ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (January 12, 2015) — The Tampa Bay Rowdies are hosting open tryouts this year and giving the best local talent a shot at making their professional dreams come true.
The tryouts will take place at Walter Fuller Soccer Complex (2800 75th St. N.) in St. Petersburg on Sunday, January 25 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The tryouts will be open to the first 120 players aged 16-35 to register online. There is no fee to tryout.

"The open tryouts are a way to connect with the public and particularly players who aspire to be professionals," Rowdies coach Thomas Rongen said. "There might be a diamond in the rough that we don't know about, so this tryout is an opportunity to see many players in a short amount of time. Our goal is to find players that we can then bring to our invitation-only combine and then preseason and eventually possibly they can be a part of our roster for 2015."
Check-in for the tryouts will open at 9 a.m. on the morning of tryouts. Teams will be selected at 9:45 a.m. Combine events and scrimmages will begin at 10:00 a.m. and continue until 4:00 p.m. Former Rowdies players will be running the tryout and evaluating the talent, along with the current Rowdies technical staff.
The tryouts will be open to the public for viewing.
The Rowdies will open the 2015 season with a match up against the San Antonio Scorpions, the 2014 Soccer Bowl Champions, in San Antonio April 4. The home opener follows on April 11 against Minnesota United FC, the team with the best overall 2014 record and the defending Spring champion.
Fans will enjoy all the action at the newly-renovated Al Lang Stadium, complete with larger pitch, new seating, improved concessions and more. 2015 season tickets are available now. Call (877) ROWDIES today!
