Dr. Menon is an orthopedic surgeon at the Suncoast Medical Clinic who specializes in the surgical treatment of injuries to the upper and lower extremity. His areas of expertise include advanced arthroscopy of the shoulder, elbow, hip and knee, joint replacement, knee ligament reconstruction, and cartilage restoration. Dr. Menon also strongly emphasizes a comprehensive approach to musculoskeletal health and wellness including a focus on applying non-surgical techniques such as platelet rich plasma and autologous stem cell therapy when applicable.
Dr. Menon is also the team physician for the Tampa Bay Rays. He takes care of athletes of all ages and skill levels and provides medical coverage for many local school athletics programs. He is a physician for the Association of Volleyball Professionals (AVP), has served as assistant team physician at Auburn University, and provides annual medical coverage at the Saint Anthony’s Triathlon.
A graduate of the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Dr. Menon completed his residency training at Los Angeles County Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. During that time he received special training in the treatment of pediatric orthopedic disorders at the Shriner’s Hospital for Children in Los Angeles. He then completed a fellowship in Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy under the mentorship of Dr. James Andrews, the world’s foremost sports medicine orthopedic surgeon. Prior to embarking on his medical career Dr. Menon attended the University of Southern California and worked in the entertainment industry at what is now the William Morris-Endeavor Agency.
Currently Dr. Menon maintains an active practice while also acting as a contributor on peer reviewed research publications and textbooks. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS), the Arthrscopy Association of North America (AANA), and the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM).
