Farrukh Quraishi

Farrukh Quraishi was named president and general manager of the Rowdies on November 18, 2014.

After completing a college career at Oneonta State where he was a three time All-American and 1974 Hermann Trophy winner, Quraishi began his professional soccer career in 1975 when the Tampa Bay Rowdies selected him first overall in the NASL college draft. That season he was named to the NASL All Star First Team and was a key member of the Rowdies Soccer Bowl championship team.

Off the field, Quraishi’s executive management experience is extensive.  He was involved in the original development of Major League Soccer (MLS) and the establishment of the Tampa Bay Mutiny.  He served as the Mutiny’s president and general manager for their inaugural season, in which they experienced their most successful results in franchise history.  Additionally Quraishi served as the venue executive director for Orlando’s 1994 FIFA World Cup, executive vice president and COO of Massachusetts Professional Soccer, overseeing the management of three United Soccer League clubs and was the Rowdies’ director of youth development early in his career.

Quraishi has become a mainstay in the bay area through his work in both public and community relations.  He served as the director of public relations for Caspers Company, the largest McDonald’s franchisee in the southeastern United States, and most recently as the executive director of the HCC Foundation.
