Tampa Bay Rowdies

Juan Guerra signed with the Rowdies on December 19, 2014.

Guerra, 27, joins the Rowdies after a brief stint with Venezuelan First Division club Deportivo Lara, a club he joined in June of 2014. The midfielder has four caps with the Venezuelan national team, including two call-ups for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.

From 2005-2007, Guerra played collegiately for Florida International University.  The 5-foot-9 holding midfielder started his professional career in Venezuela at Monagas SC, where he played 23 matches during the 2009-2010 season. His success at the Azulgranas attracted the attention of one of Venezuela’s most popular clubs, Caracas FC.

Joining Caracas FC for the 2010 season, Guerra played in 22 league matches, and also gained international experience by participating in both the Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana. In 2011, Caracas FC loaned Guerra to Spanish Second Division club UD Las Palmas. His arrival at the Spanish club also led the way for his first international call-up with the Venezuelan national team in September 2011.

After spending the 2011 season in Spain, Guerra returned to Caracas FC, where he played 32 league matches. Before joining Deportivo Lara, Guerra spent the 2013 season with Venezuelan first division club Carabobo FC.
